In Greene County district court Lorraine Logan, 64, of Grand Junction was sentenced Feb. 1 to 10 days in jail after she pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment- third degree, amended from harassment- second degree. The jail sentenced was suspended and she was placed on informal probation to the Greene County sheriff for one year. She was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge; both were suspended. Court costs were $100. In a concurrent case in magistrate court, Logan was fined $105 with a $15.75 surcharge on a charge of disorderly conduct- abusive epithets/threatening gesture, amended from assault. She must pay restitution not to exceed $600 (combined for both cases) for her court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs in the magistrate case are $60. Restitution (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. Isabell Rose Clark, 19, of Madrid was sentenced to five years in prison on a charge of willful injury causing serious injury, and five years in prison on a charge of going armed with intent. The prison terms are concurrent, but both were suspended. She was placed on probation to the Iowa Department of Correctional Services for two years. She was fined $1,025 with a $153.50 surcharge on each count. The fine and surcharge were suspended on the willful injury charge. She must pay $896 victim restitution. Clark was found to be unable to pay restitution for her court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria A. Kester)
Defendants pleaded not guilty as follows: Michael Lee Eastman, 50, of Jefferson, driving while license barred; and James Michael Timmons, 42, of Jefferson, operating while intoxicated- second offense. Trial dates were set for April 9 in both cases.
Cases were initiated in district court as follows: Michael David Husar, 64, of Churdan, OWI and possession of dangerous weapon while under the influence; and Brandon Duong, 34, of Jefferson, violation of custodial order- relative, and in a separate case, kidnapping- second degree armed with dangerous weapon.
